Gananoque council is expected to make a decision regarding an award of contract for the replacement of eight ultrasonic level transmitters at the water treatment plant.
A decision is slated for Tuesday’s council meeting.
The recommendation from staff is that council sign an agreement with Capital Controls and Instrumentation Inc. for this project, for the price of $54,897.61.
The recommended tender amount is not within the remaining approved budget amount of $51,000, which leaves a shortfall of $3,897.61. Staff is recommending the shortfall be funded through water reserves accounts.
As part of the 2023 approved capital budget, public works staff worked with EVB Engineering to provide scope of work and solicit proposals from qualified instrumentation and controls companies for the replacement of the original level transmitters at the James W. King Water Treatment Facility. This project and the associated funding was approved in the 2023 capital budget.
Jamie Baker of EVB Engineering completed a review of the submitted quotations and provided his recommendation for this award.
