On the evening of Oct. 31, Brockville police responded to a distress call reporting a domestic disturbance in the vicinity of Bramshot Avenue.
The incident, which occurred around 4:30 p.m., involved a heated altercation between a couple, resulting in the arrest of a 56-year-old male suspect.
Upon their arrival, officers engaged with the involved couple, delving into the details of the altercation. The investigation revealed that the dispute had escalated dramatically, leading the male participant to allegedly physically assault his girlfriend and hurl various objects at her during the course of the argument.
The authorities, upon discovering the severity of the situation, took the 56-year-old male into custody. Subsequent investigation brought to light evidence of prior assaults that had transpired between the couple. Fortunately, the injuries sustained by the victim were deemed non-life-threatening.
The accused male now faces legal repercussions for his actions. He has been formally charged with three counts of assault. Following his arrest, he was released with specified conditions and a future court date pending further legal proceedings.
