In the early hours of Sunday, Nov. 5, Brockville police were alerted to a peculiar incident of an unoccupied vehicle that was discovered flipped upside down in the vicinity of King Street West.
Upon arrival at approximately 4:30 a.m., responding officers confirmed the vehicle’s abandonment, sparking an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
According to witnesses, the vehicle had overturned around 2:30 a.m., but the incident had gone unreported until hours later. Police promptly traced the vehicle to its registered owner’s residence, leading them to a 37-year-old male, presumed to be the driver responsible for the accident.
Fortunately, the male driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the rollover. After medical evaluation, law enforcement officials took him into custody on charges of failure to stop after an accident and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
The arrested individual was subsequently released under specific conditions, pending a future court date where he will face legal consequences related to the charges.
Brockville police did not release the name of the individual charged.
