Apple picking is a time-honoured September tradition for many Ontarians, and the Leeds and Grenville area is brimming with the tasty fruits in early autumn. Many local orchards feature additional opportunities for fun such as wagon rides and baked goods.
Here are five local apple orchards you can visit this fall.
Hall’s Apple Market
2930 2nd Concession Road, Brockville
Open Monday – Saturday 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. all year round, and also on Sundays from 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Labour Day to Christmas.
Pick your own fresh juicy apples, experience delicious bakery treats and visit their country boutique featuring clothing, jewellery, gourmet items and unique gifts. Pick your own apples from mid-August until picking is finished in October. Bring your camera and a picnic lunch as we have picnic tables and a children’s playground.

Open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on weekends and holiday Mondays.
A family tradition since 1970, Mountain Orchards offers apple picking, a corn maze, wagon rides, doughnuts, butter tarts, weekend and holiday BBQs and more.
Jasper Apple Farm
1629 County Road 16, Jasper

The orchard features 1,500 semi-dwarf apple trees meaning no ladders are needed for picking. The inaugural Jasper Apple Farm Festival takes place Sunday, Sept. 17 from 1-4 p.m. Pick your own apples, dig your own chrysanthemums and enjoy live music. Apple picking season also kicks off at the farm on Sept. 17.

Pick your own apples and later pumpkins, and enjoy the playground/swing set, picnic tables, beehives, chickens to feed and more. The farm also features a beautiful waterfront view and walkway.
