Brockville police seize large quantity of drugs during breach of conditions call

The Brockville Police Service seized about $115,000 worth of drugs after being called to a local residence regarding a man breaching his release conditions, a media release says.

Brockville police state that on Sunday, June 23, at about 10 p.m., police received a 911 call regarding a 20-year-old male who had attended a residence on First Avenue despite being on conditions not to be around the occupants of the residence while under the influence of drugs.

“Investigation revealed, the subject was under the influence of fentanyl,” police say. The suspect allegedly made multiple attempts to gain entry to the house at multiple windows and doors. When police arrived, hewas arrested for failing to comply with his recognizance (peace bond).

Police then searched the suspect, and officers located a significant quantity of various drugs, including fentanyl, Xanax, psilocybin (magic mushrooms), cocaine, cannabis, ecstasy and Dilaudid, according to the release. “The estimated street value for the quantities seized is approximately $115,000,” police say.

The suspect was held for a bail hearing for the offences of breach of recognizance, possession for the purpose of distributing cannabis and six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in the multiple other substances.
