Brockville police charge man with harassment, uttering threats

A 61-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly turning up unwanted at a woman’s apartment and threatening her while causing a scene.

The Brockville Police Service states that on Sunday, April 21, at about 3:30 a.m., police received a call to attend an apartment building on King Street East regarding an unwanted person.

“Officers arrived and the female caller no longer wanted a 61-year-old male at her residence after they had engaged in an argument over property,” the release states. “The dispute ended and parties were separated.”

Later that day, however, at about 6 a.m., police received a second call claiming the the male had returned to the residence.

Now, he was allegedly threatening the female caller and kicking her door. There were also concerns he was attempting to lite something on fire.

Police responded, along with Brockville Fire Department, and located the suspect.

Police say there was no active fire found; however, the man was placed under arrest and charged with uttering threats and harassment.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
