Brockville police charge man accused of stealing from Real Canadian Superstore

A man was recently arrested after after allegedly stealing over $100 worth of groceries from a Brockville grocery store.

In a media release, the Brockville Police Service states that on Tuesday, May 14, at about 9:45 p.m., the suspect was observed shoplifting from the Real Canadian Superstore on Parkdale Avenue.

“The subject was observed in the store, concealing items in a large duffle bag,” police state. “He then attended to the checkout area and paid for one single item, then left the store.”

Officers located the subject as he was leaving the store, and arrested the 32-year-old male.

“There was approximately $120 worth of merchandise found in the bag that he used to conceal the items,” police state.

Police say that during the search, officers also located and seized a quantity of fentanyl.

The man was charged with theft under $5,000 and released with conditions and a future court date.
