Belleville woman charged after attempting to bite bystanders: police

A Bellevillle woman was charged after allegedly trying to bite people who were trying to help in a time of distress, the Belleville Police Service reports in a media release.

Police state that on Friday, April 26, at around 11 a.m., officers were called to an area in the west end of the city near the courthouse on Bridge Street West.

It was reported that several bystanders had attempted to assist a female who appeared unwell. The woman, who was eventually determined to be intoxicated, was reportedly attempting to bite anyone who came close to her.

The media release says that once officers determined the woman’s identity, it was revealed and that she was on court conditions not to consume alcohol.

Jessica McGraw, 29, of Belleville was arrested and charged with breaching conditions and held until sober. This charge has not been proven in court.
