A dispute between neighbours over a parking spot led to police involvement early Tuesday morning.

At about 6 a.m. on June 18, Belleville police responded to an address on Sidney Street after receiving reports that a man had just “smashed out a car window and broke one of the side mirrors,” according to a media release.

Once officers arrived on the scene, they learned that there had been a dispute between tenants over a parking spot. Police say one of the involved parties then proceeded to break the other persons car window and side mirror in anger.

“Police remained on scene and mediated the dispute,” the release explains. “In the end, the person responsible for the damage apologized and payed for the damages in lieu of charges.”
