The Belleville Police Service has announced a shift towards a paperless online criminal record check system starting this Friday, Nov. 24. This move signals the end of paper record checks at the station, with a transition to what police believe will be an efficient and secure digital platform.

Residents of Belleville will now have the convenience of applying for various record checking services through an online portal at This technological leap aims to simplify the process for those residing in Belleville’s jurisdiction.

The new system promises a quick, easy, and secure process for submitting requests for police record checks. “Moving police record checks online allows the Belleville Police Service to efficiently and effectively meet the needs of our community,” stated a representative of the service.

While embracing digitalization, the service ensures accessibility for all residents. Individuals without access to a phone or computer can use the kiosks available at the station to complete the online application.

The online portal caters to various types of record checks, including Criminal Record Check (CRC), Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC), and Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC). Payment for these services will be seamlessly collected electronically during the online application process.

Results will be directly delivered to the applicant through a secure portal link, ensuring confidentiality and privacy.

Despite the shift to digital platforms, the fees for these record checks remain unchanged.
