Belleville police respond to multiple motor vehicle collisions

Belleville Police responded to six motor vehicle collisions on Tuesday, Jan. 9 during the wet snow fall weather conditions between 11:20 a.m. and 4:40 p.m. One of the collisions resulted in minor injuries.

In a media release, the Belleville Police Service reports that at about 8:50 a.m. on Jan. 9, Belleville EMS and police responded to a three-vehicle collision on Bridge Street West. While driving, one of the drivers suffered from a medical episode and subsequently struck a garbage truck and another vehicle. The individual was transported to the hospital, and two of the vehicles were removed from the scene by tow truck. No charges were laid by police.

“Drivers are reminded to slow down, plan for increased driving times to their destination and ensure there is plenty of stopping distance between vehicles,” Belleville police advise.
