Belleville police investigating vandalism at Veterans Memorial Bridge

The Belleville Police Service responded to a report of vandalism at the Veterans Memorial Bridge on Dec. 14 at about 1:15 p.m., following information received about individuals causing damage to the display.

According to photos issued by police, the ‘e’ in ‘memorial’ and the ‘r’ in bridge were removed from the display.

Police state that the suspects were seen holding Bristol board signs bearing a message akin to “brace for the future,” are currently being sought for their involvement in the incident.

Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that could aid in identifying the suspects responsible for the damage. Constable Sarley, reachable at jsarley@bellevilleps.ca or via phone at 613-966-0882 x 4190, is leading the investigation and encourages witnesses or individuals possessing video footage of the suspects to come forward.
