Belleville man facing threats, mischief charges after altercation with cab driver

A Belleville man was charged following an altercation with a cab driver in a parking lot on Bell Boulevard over the weekend, Belleville police report in a media release.

The Belleville Police Service says officers responded to reports of a disturbance at the parking lot shortly after 8 p.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival, they were informed that a man had become agitated during a conversation with a cab driver, and proceeded to strike the window of the cab. Additionally, the individual allegedly threatened the driver.

Paul Johnston, 34, of Belleville, has been charged with uttering threats and mischief under $5,000 in connection with the incident. Charges have not been proven in court. He was released with a court date set for June 13.
