The Carleton Place Youth Centre and Carleton Place Tourism have announced an upcoming event, “The Great Canadian Comedy Caravan Tour: Fundraiser Edition,” set to take place on Saturday, March 23, at the Carleton Place Town Hall Auditorium in downtown Carleton Place. The event, sponsored by Jackson Homes, aims to bring together laughter, fun, and community spirit.

Featuring a lineup of Canada’s top comedians, the fundraiser edition of The Great Canadian Comedy Caravan Tour promises an evening of entertainment and laughter for attendees. Headliner Rick Currie, known for his appearances on shows like Rick Mercer Report and Just For Laughs, will be joined by local talent Jim McNally and touring comedian Todd Reid. Hosting the event will be Alastair McAlastair, a familiar voice on Sirius XM and CBC.

“We are excited to bring this special edition of The Great Canadian Comedy Caravan Tour to Carleton Place. Laughter has the power to bring people together, and we’re thrilled to harness that power for a good cause,” said Todd Reid, Comedy Caravan organizer in a media release.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will support the Carleton Place Youth Centre, which provides free programming for local children, including arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and leadership opportunities.

Tickets for The Great Canadian Comedy Caravan Tour: Fundraiser Edition are $25 in advance online, and $35 at the box office on show night, if available. Cash-only tickets without processing fees are also available for purchase at the Carleton Place Youth Centre and the Carleton Place Visitor Information Centre.

Doors open at 7 p.m., with the show running from 8 to 10 p.m. A canteen, hosted by the Carleton Place Youth Centre, will be available during the show.
